District Specialists

Hello! My name is Erin Cole, and I am one of the Literacy Specialists at Old Town Middle School. Before moving into this role, I taught high school English for 14 years in Madison and Rankin County. I am excited to be at Old Town and look forward to working with students to help strengthen their reading skills.

Greetings! My name is Alissa Murray.  I have taught middle school mathematics for ten years and this is my sixth year as a District Math Specialist.  

As a District Math Specialist, I work with teachers and small groups of students in classrooms.  This includes, but is not limited to, at times coaching and modeling lessons with teachers; co-planning and/or co-teaching lessons with teachers, collaborating with teachers on resources for “small group” math exploration; helping facilitate small group math work, as well as working with administrators and teachers to co-create and co-analyze assessment data to improve instruction and close "gaps".  I serve as District Math Specialist for OTMS on Wednesday and Thursday each week.

 I love working with the students, teachers, and administrators in the Titan Zone!

My name is Kristen Dickey, and I am so excited to join the Titans!  I have been a speech-language pathologist in the Mississippi public schools for 22 years.  I have worked with students with speech and language needs from pre-school aged through high school.  As a proud graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, I am licensed in the evaluation and treatment of articulation, fluency, voice and language disorders.  I can't wait to meet all of my new students and am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the Madison County School District!  Looking forward to the best school year ever!
